Etonogestrel Subdermal Contraceptive Implant: Removal
摘要
The etonogestrel subdermal contraceptive implant (EI), NexplanonⓇ, is a sterile 4-cm × 2-mm single rod that is implanted subdermally in a pregnancy-capable patient’s upper arm and can provide from 3 years (FDA-approved) to 5 years (evidence-based) of continuous highly effective contraception. Removal of the EI is a simple procedure that should be done by providers who have undergone the required training.
