Graphical information is essential for numerous BIM applications. However, its incorporation can also augment the size and complexity of models, thereby diminishing the processing efficiency of software tools. This paper explores the inclusion and exclusion of graphical information in different formats used to transfer construction products’ data. Specifically, if analyses the future IT format for the harmonized standards under the new Regulation (EU) 2024/3110 laying down harmonised rules for the marketing of construction products. The conclusions can be used to optimize the use of graphical data together with performance characteristics (parameters).

摘要

Graphical information is essential for numerous BIM applications. However, its incorporation can also augment the size and complexity of models, thereby diminishing the processing efficiency of software tools. This paper explores the inclusion and exclusion of graphical information in different formats used to transfer construction products’ data. Specifically, if analyses the future IT format for the harmonized standards under the new Regulation (EU) 2024/3110 laying down harmonised rules for the marketing of construction products. The conclusions can be used to optimize the use of graphical data together with performance characteristics (parameters).
