The Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) is a guide for effective project management. Since its publication, it has undergone various revisions, improving its content and adapting it to the evolving needs of the market. Industrial and engineering sectors that handle large volumes of data are increasingly using management tools such as Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems. The growing interest in these systems has led to the development of solutions that are potentially beneficial for product project management. However, guides like PMBOK have yet to consider the synergies that can be achieved with these solutions. This work aims to identify the main PLM solutions currently available on the market and analyze their capabilities for integration into the PMBOK guide through its performance domains. For this purpose, a methodology is established that allows for understanding the eight PMBOK domains, identifying the most representative PLM solutions on the market, mapping them to the requirements of each domain, and synthesizing the results in an integration matrix that evaluates the level of coverage provided. The main findings reveal that complete suites offer significant coverage in most domains, surpassing that of integrated solutions. However, there are inherent limitations in both when it comes to areas such as uncertainty management. Nevertheless, the PLM-PMBOK integration is confirmed to enhance efficiency, collaboration, and traceability in product project management. The proposed matrix can serve as a useful tool for selecting PLM software according to the specific management needs of an organization.

摘要
