The paper analyses existing studies of the Helmholtz resonator in the presence of a grazing flow at its neck. We present the results numerical calculation of the acoustic characteristics of the Helmholtz resonator in COMSOL Multiphysics. The effect of a sliding flow on its resonant frequency and the acoustic efficiency of the resonator at this frequency is analyzed. The relationships of the resonator resistance and the added resonator neck length vs. the velocity of the sliding flow are obtained.
