The requirements for the regulation of intermittent vibration in residential and public buildings, introduced by the new sanitary rules and norms SanPiN 1.2.3685-21, are analyzed in relation to the vibration impact created by the movement of rail transport. It is shown that the new rules eliminate a number of problems associated with the ambiguity of some provisions of previous regulatory documents. At the same time, the new rules do not provide for the assessment of maximum vibration values, and also apply a new frequency correction function, which, as shown in practical examples, leads to a significant relaxation of the requirements for permissible vibration exposure. Contradictions of current regulatory documents in the field of vibration regulation are noted.
