Research of the Properties of Recycled Concrete Aggregates for Structural Application
摘要
Recycling of construction waste for use as aggregates for new concretes is a promising direction of sustainable development of the construction sector to solve the problems of depletion of natural resources and environmental pollution. Partial replacement of primary aggregate with recycled aggregate from construction waste can effectively reduce carbon emissions, significantly save natural resources, and solve the problem of waste management. In Ukraine, the recycling of construction waste generated by explosions and shelling is a pressing issue. Unlike conventional construction and demolition waste, this material contains components of diverse structures and origins, which complicates its processing and reuse. This paper presents the investigation results of the geometric, physical and chemical properties of recycled aggregates and properties of concrete with the use of recycled aggregates. It is shown that the properties of secondary aggregates differ, which requires the development of concretes in each specific case. It is shown that replacing 10% of fine aggregate and 20% of coarse aggregate with recycled aggregates provides the necessary properties of the fresh concrete and concrete compressive strength at low positive temperatures for strength class C20/25.
