The paper discusses existing legal and regulatory framework for environmentally safe power generation from renewable energy sources which has become increasingly important for ensuring sustainable development. It includes the identification and theoretical justification of key challenges faced by the renewable energy sector at the present time, including those relating to the methodological approach to the assessment of environmental impacts associated with power generation from agricultural waste products. It presents the findings of the assessment of air emissions from a typical thermal power plant firing agricultural waste and identifies priority issues that require further study to improve the environmental safety of this type of operation.

摘要

The paper discusses existing legal and regulatory framework for environmentally safe power generation from renewable energy sources which has become increasingly important for ensuring sustainable development. It includes the identification and theoretical justification of key challenges faced by the renewable energy sector at the present time, including those relating to the methodological approach to the assessment of environmental impacts associated with power generation from agricultural waste products. It presents the findings of the assessment of air emissions from a typical thermal power plant firing agricultural waste and identifies priority issues that require further study to improve the environmental safety of this type of operation.
