The integration of Industry 4.0 into the machine-building complex of Ukraine can help increase productivity, quality and competitiveness of production, ensure the safety of workers, be efficient and stable through the use of advanced technologies to optimize production processes, which will contribute to the development of this industry and ensure its stable place in the international market. One of the important aspects of the application of digital technologies of Industry 4.0 is the provision of man-made safety in production. Safety measures at the production facilities of the machine-building complex include: implementation of occupational safety management systems, audits and inspections regarding compliance with safety requirements, training of employees in safety rules and procedures at workplaces. An important component is the safety culture among employees, which contributes to the prevention of accidents and occupational diseases. The article analyzes the key differences between the fourth industrial revolution and Industry 4.0, substantiates the selection of new organizational digital tools, techniques and methods of Industry 4.0 that can be applied to ensure safety at Ukrainian enterprises of the machine-building industry, identifies one of the decisive factors for the successful implementation of Industry 4.0 at enterprises is the qualification of employees. The importance of the work lies in the implementation of a systematic analysis of the functions of Industry 4.0 tools that ensure the safety of workers at enterprises in the mechanical engineering industry. The practical value of the work lies in building a model of a holistic approach to developing the competencies of different levels of workers for the implementation of Industry 4.0 tools, offering options for training personnel to use digital tools. The result is a proposal to introduce a set of modern digital tools for monitoring the quality of safety at industrial enterprises.
