Adaptation to Achieve Climate Resilience Through Advanced Techniques like Remote Sensing and Machine Learning
摘要
Climate change is the most significant 21st-century burden that has far-reaching and powerful effects on natural environments, economic stability, and human health. Frequency of extreme weather events such as global warming, sea-level rise, and alterations in precipitation regimes emphasizes the need for adaptation that gives rise to increased societal resilience. In turn, to these risks there has resulted a wide range of technological and scientific breakthroughs that present promising pathways to risk reduction and increased adaptive capacity creation. This chapter presents an overview of such frontier approaches culminating interdisciplinary methodologies such as climate-smart agriculture, artificial intelligence (AI), remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), big data analytics, and biotechnological interventions. Integration of these approaches offers a transformative potential not only for mitigating climate-related risks but also for informing policy decisions, improving early warning systems and fostering sustainable development in vulnerable regions.
