Attentiveness towards the demand response (DR) is of great concern as it is the most probable technique to reduce the electricity system's cost and its consistency. DR can balance supply and demand more defensibly and economically, specifically when the energy is produced by unpredictable renewable resources such as solar and wind. Consumers can be encouraged if they provide DR through timebased and dynamic appraising. While executing the DR in the electricity system, the key issues and concerns are in both loads. Explicitly inflexible and flexible loads are served by the energy scheduling issues of a load-serving entity, which are also discussed. This chapter provides a comprehensive and state-of-the-art review of the operational analysis of the DR. Several comparisons of different pricing models have been made, leading to a complete conclusion of the authors’ implementation benefits of DR.
