Smart Charging Technologies for Electric Vehicles
摘要
Electric Vehicles (EVs) are gaining popularity day by day in the transport sector. This interest is fueled by the common interest of the people and the governments to reduce carbon emissions, replace the costly fossil fuels with cheaper sustainable alternatives and embrace an eco-friendly solution for transportation. The governments are also supporting this shift to EVs by heavily subsidizing and giving more tax related benefits to EV owners. This growing prominence of EVs requires a drastic changes of existing charging infrastructure. An EV charging station runs independent from grid, uses regular electric supply and offers continuous charging. It needs physical human presence for operation and the charging station needs to be maintained manually. Though it requires minimum involvement of user, it is a technically challenging task to maintain an EV charging station. Few limitations in existing infrastructure include the imbalance in load distribution across the charging station, limitation of number of vehicles that can be charged simultaneously and acceptance of basic payment methods. Smart EV Charging Stations are one of the alternatives to overcome all these challenges. EV Smart Charging Stations restrict the load fluctuations & integrates renewable energy with power grid to distribute energy efficiently across multiple EVs at a time. For this advanced control techniques are suggested (IoT, AI, ANN & so on) to optimize charging based on load requirements, user preferences, and different subscription methods and supports digital payment methods. So that user can control, monitor charging remotely. Also, personalized charging profiles is possible for every user.
