This chapter aims to contextualize motivating language into internal corporate social responsibility (CSR) communication. Although the positive effects of internal CSR communication on employees’ attitudinal and behavioral outcomes have been widely recognized, detailed guidelines on cultivating leaders’ languages in CSR communication are still limited. This chapter will discuss the theoretical and practical implications of Motivation Language Theory (MLT) in the context of internal CSR communication. In particular, this chapter considers how leader motivating language in CSR communication influences employee CSR engagement. Additionally, this chapter discusses potential research directions for integrating MLT into CSR communication, including the potential mediator and moderator, the post-pandemic era, and the integration of AI. This chapter offers guidelines for strategically promoting internal CSR, fostering leadership communication, and managing employer-employee relationships.
