HPLC-DAD Determination of Pesticides in Citrus Samples
摘要
Pesticides, synthetic and natural, are representing a diverse group of chemicals which are used for controling the harmful effects of target organisms. Pesticides may be classified due to the target organisms. The key categories of target organisms for food toxicology are insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides. Less common categories include acaricides which are agents used to destroy mites, molluscicides represents agents used to destroy snails, and rodenticides known as agents used to destroy rodents. In this study, citrus samples (white grapefruit, red grapefruit, clementine, lemon, and orange) were analyzed for the presence of eight different pesticides. The analyzed pesticides included: alachlor, aldrin, amitraz, atrazine, chlorfenvinphos, diazinon, endosulfan, and terbutryn. Extraction and cleanup of the samples were performed using the QuEChERS method, while analysis was conducted by the HPLC-DAD method. No detectable quantities of pesticides were found in any of the analyzed samples.
