This chapter outlines the methodological framework adopted for the systematic and narrative review conducted within the scope of the Second Academic Report on Climate Change in Venezuela (DRACC). The objective was to synthesize scientific and technical knowledge related to the vulnerabilities and adaptation strategies of the Venezuelan agricultural sector in the face of climate change, integrating diverse data sources, disciplinary perspectives, and temporal scales. The review followed international standards, including the PRISMA 2020 guidelines and the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews, ensuring transparency, replicability, and methodological rigor. A comprehensive search strategy was deployed across academic databases, grey literature repositories, institutional archives, and expert networks. A total of 435 records were identified, of which 323 publications met the eligibility criteria and were included in the final synthesis. The selection process was documented using a PRISMA flow diagram. Data were extracted using a standardized form, capturing bibliographic information, climate-agriculture linkages, geographic focus, methodological features, and key findings. The synthesis relied on narrative integration, thematic coding, comparative matrices, and spatial-temporal aggregation, allowing for a multidimensional understanding of the subject matter. To enrich the analysis, external datasets and visual tools were incorporated from platforms such as the World Bank Climate Change Knowledge Portal, MapBiomas Venezuela, FAOSTAT, Climate Watch, UNEP-WCMC, and Our World in Data. These resources provided historical baselines, climate projections, land-use trends, and sectoral indicators relevant to agriculture and food security. The approach adopted serves as a replicable model for future climate-agriculture assessments and contributes to strengthening the evidence base for national and regional adaptation strategies in Venezuela.
