Physical therapy modalities are increasingly being used more comprehensively among the treatment options for temporomandibular joint disorders, vertigo, tinnitus, facial paralysis, torticollis, and myofascial pain syndrome, which are frequently encountered among ear, nose, and throat diseases. As physical therapy modalities, heat applications, electrical stimulation, TENS, low-level laser, therapeutic ultrasound, and exercise applications are mostly preferred. These treatments can be planned individually or in combination according to the patient. However, there are no standard guidelines regarding the application methods, dosages, application times, and characteristics of the devices used for the physical therapy modalities used. Treatment is usually created in line with the results of existing studies and the experience of the clinician. When physical therapy modalities are used along with other treatments, improvement in symptoms and functions can be achieved in a short time. Therefore, physical therapy modalities should not be overlooked as an efficient treatment option in the treatment of these diseases due to their ease of application, lower side effects, lower costs, and noninvasive characteristics.
