It has been determined that some of the cases presenting to primary to tertiary care with complaints of vertigo are of psychogenic origin. The criteria for “dizziness-anxiety syndromes” put forward in recent years have profound similarities, and discussions about distinguishing these diseases continue. Differential diagnosis should be made in cases presenting with vertigo complaints by taking a detailed anamnesis and examination and, if necessary, tests to exclude organic disorder. Knowing the findings that support the psychiatric characterization of complaints is valuable for making a correct diagnosis and applying appropriate treatment. Although the most basic recommended treatments are cognitive behavioral therapy, vestibular rehabilitation exercises, and pharmacological treatments, it is thought that starting a multimodal treatment as early as possible, specific to the patient and taking into account the pathologies accompanying the disease, will prevent the development of adverse situations such as functional impairment and disability.
