The head and neck region has many anatomical structures with different functions and morphological features. These include parenchymal organs, bone structures, connective-support tissue, and vascular–neural–lymphatic network. Many congenital, infectious, inflammatory, tumoral, traumatic, and vascular pathologies exist. Radiological methods used in the radiological evaluation of the head and neck region: conventional radiography, ultrasonography, color Doppler ultrasonography, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Due to their high sensitivity and reliability, cross-sectional examination methods such as CT and MRI have become indispensable tools in head and neck imaging. Imaging should not be a stand-alone method; it should complement the physical examination and be integrated with endoscopy if necessary. Interpretation of imaging studies should consider the patient’s history, physical examination findings, comorbidities, and previous procedures that may affect the structures imaged.
