Ethical Considerations in Otorhinolaryngology and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
摘要
This chapter discusses ethical issues in the context of otorhinolaryngology and physical therapy and rehabilitation. Since similar situations and problems are encountered in other fields of medicine, the issues are discussed at the general medical level. First of all, information about ethics is given. Then research ethics, publication ethics, and professional ethics are discussed separately. Ethics committees established to evaluate ethical violations were mentioned; their types and the topics they examine were discussed. For ethics in scientific research, topics such as preclinical research, clinical research, animal experiments, interventional studies, and noninterventional studies were included. The subject of publication ethics is covered as it is practiced in Turkey; ethical violations related to the associate professorship application process are discussed under a separate heading. Today, the rapidly developing digital world has intensely affected medical practices; therefore, a separate chapter is devoted to ethics in digital health applications.
