Over the past three decades, advancements in surgical and medical care have significantly improved neonatal survival rates, leading to a growing number of children requiring rehabilitative treatment for severe chronic illnesses and congenital deformities. Despite the overall progress in pediatric healthcare, the field of pediatric rehabilitation has yet to establish comprehensive treatment plans tailored to the unique challenges posed by otorhinolaryngology disorders in children. These disorders, encompassing voice, speech, language, communication, hearing, swallowing, and breathing difficulties, demand a holistic developmental approach. However, current rehabilitation efforts for these conditions often fall short, lacking well-organized multidisciplinary teams in hospital and long-term care settings. While there is a wealth of literature on general pediatric rehabilitation, publications specifically addressing pediatric otorhinolaryngology issues remain scarce. This gap underscores the need to develop and implement specialized rehabilitation frameworks to ensure comprehensive care for all affected children.
