The cat is a solitary, territorial, and non-social species. Stable social rules, particularly a stable and predictable hierarchy, have not been demonstrated in this species (Bradshaw 2016). Therefore, unlike the dog (Masson et al. 2023), we cannot speak of social integration disorders since there are no true social relationships in the species. Furthermore, the existence of interspecific attachment is debated, and there is currently no consensus on the subject (Vitale et al. 2019; Potter and Mills 2015).

摘要

The cat is a solitary, territorial, and non-social species. Stable social rules, particularly a stable and predictable hierarchy, have not been demonstrated in this species (Bradshaw 2016). Therefore, unlike the dog (Masson et al. 2023), we cannot speak of social integration disorders since there are no true social relationships in the species. Furthermore, the existence of interspecific attachment is debated, and there is currently no consensus on the subject (Vitale et al. 2019; Potter and Mills 2015).
