The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data science in sports is transforming - from athlete performance optimization to injury prevention, fan engagement, wearable devices, business analytics, and performance movements. It focuses on integrating interdisciplinary research in education at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Thus, Delhi Technological University has introduced a Minor Specialization in Sports Analytics as a part of its M.Tech. Data Science and Software Engineering curriculum. In this study, the structure of the specialization is discussed with integration of real-world tools, empirical learnings, and sports applications. Furthermore, the outline of the curriculum such as wearable technology, performance measurement techniques, training program, business analytics, data analytics is focused on improving athlete performance in upcoming years. It also includes implementation challenges, ethical considerations, and potential collaboration between academic, research institute, and sports industry such as Nike, Adidas and Puma. However, the outcome of this specialization is focused on producing more sports analysts and improving education in sports.
