A Critical Analysis of Mental Well-Being Among Vocational Training Students with Intellectual Disabilities Having Autism
摘要
Well-being is a mental state, in which people realize their own potential and develop strategies for coping with stress and anxiety. Students with intellectual disabilities having autism experience higher levels of psychological and academic stress, which also affects their well-being and mental health. This study focuses on the major role of mental well-being among vocational training students with intellectual disabilities having autism in a vocational setup. It also aims to ensure that mental well-being can play a major role in successful inclusion in the community. The research study consists of a detailed, cross-sectional, and correlational design to assess the level of mental well-being of persons with intellectual disabilities having autism at four Vocational Training Centers in Uttar Pradesh, India. The study findings indicate that there is no significant correlation in the mental well-being of the participants as per the sociodemographic variables. The study addresses a previously less explored or underexplored issue. It may challenge existing theories or provide new insights for managing cases of intellectual disability with autism. Evaluating the mental health and well-being of persons with disabilities is very important for finding out some possible mental health-related illnesses, diseases, or disorders and easily finding any severe issues.
