In this chapter, we examine the unique challenges and vulnerabilities faced by immigrant and refugee families in the context of family violence. We begin by presenting an epidemiological overview of family violence before exploring key theoretical frameworks to understand the complex dynamics of family violence among immigrants and refugees. We review key risk and protective factors associated with family violence in these communities and discuss evidence-based strategies to address the issue. The chapter concludes by offering recommendations for research, practice, and policy to inform global nursing care.
