Being a transparent and distributed ledger, blockchain amasses tons of transactional data for analytical use, and is naturally considered a gold mine to individual and institutional investors. Unfortunately, there was a huge barrier in applying blockchain technology and unleashing its analytical power in the business world because of the slow blockchain adoption during its early years. When there was no adoption, there would be no data, resulting in no analytics. The root cause was the lack of solid use cases. In this chapter, three top use cases built with permissioned blockchain, namely trade finance, traceability, and central bank digital currency will be explained, demonstrating how blockchain analytics are generated and utilized, mainly for B2B applications. Lastly, the future evolution out of Web3 development will also be discussed.
