It will consider how the ‘fatfatfatness, overweight’ female body is positioned as socially undesirable and morally inferiorinferiorinferiority. Returning to the idea of women as ‘reproductive’ bodies, it examines how valuing women’s bodieswomen’s bodies on the productivity, or unproductivity, of their wombs creates stigmatising ideas of the ageing or menopausal female body as ‘barren’ and no longer ‘useful’.
