‘The Average Able-Bodied, Neurotypical Woman’

Building on the previous chapters, problematisation of the ‘average woman’, this chapter will consider how ableist constructions of the female body impact the lived experiences of women with disabilities and neurodiverse women who are at once considered ‘able-bodied’, yet are nonetheless constructed as ‘disabled’ in opposition to the neurotypicalneurotypical woman.
