Climate change is a major issue for the BRICS countries, particularly in agriculture. Agrivoltaic system, which combines agricultural production and solar energy generation, represents a promising solution for mitigating the effects of climate change while also providing sustainable agriculture and energy production. This paper evaluates the potential of agrivoltaic system for mitigating the effects of climate change in the BRICS countries of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. We discovered through the analysis of case studies and simulation models that agrivoltaic system can significantly reduce the carbon footprint of agriculture and energy production while improving agricultural system resilience to extreme weather events. Scaling up agrivoltaic systems in BRICS countries, on the other hand, requires addressing technical, financial, regulatory, and social barriers. Our findings suggest that agrivoltaic systems, which integrate agricultural production and renewable energy generation in a climate-smart manner, could be a promising pathway for sustainable development and mitigating climate changes in BRICS countries.

摘要
