The Epos “The Book of Dede Korkut” is an ancient Turkic (Oghuz) literary written text. Associating its author’s birth date with the period of Prophet Muhammad, on the one hand, proves itself, since the introductory part of the text emphasizes that the author, i.e. Dede Korkut was born in this very period. It is this note that starts the Epos, «Rəsul əleyhüssəlam zamanına yaxın Bayat boyundan Qorqud Ata derlər bir ər qopdu».—“Close to the time of the Prophet, on whom be peace, there appeared in the tribe of Bayat a man called Korkut Ata.” This sentence clearly indicates the time when Dede Korkut was born.
