Bed bugs are bloodsucking pests which have reemerged over the past three decades as major public health pests worldwide. They are increasingly being found in hotels, apartments, homes, subways, trains, and even movie theaters. Bed bug bites may produce a variety of skin lesions, including small itchy papules, large wheals, blisters, and even large areas of dermal vasculitis. This chapter discusses bed bugs and their bite reactions in general and their potential for disease transmission, in particular.
