This article reviews sustainable design and production strategies for transport elements, emphasizing the life cycle assessment (LCA) of internal combustion engine parts. Industry 4.0 and 5.0 technologies offer opportunities to reduce environmental impact while enhancing resource efficiency. The study critically analyzes existing approaches to digital integration and highlights the need for active human-system collaboration. Practical examples include developing diesel locomotive engines with optimized performance and environmental characteristics. The findings support strategic advancements in sustainability-focused manufacturing and operation, aligning with modern industry goals.
