Providing effective neuropsychological services in inpatient settings comprises unique challenges and solutions. Unfortunately, there are limited resources available that offer detailed insight into the daily practice of inpatient neuropsychology. In the following chapter, we will review clinical and professional responsibilities common to neuropsychologists working in inpatient environments. Guidance for navigating consultant and integrated team member roles, delivering clinical services, and working with families will be provided. Finally, this chapter will discuss other professional roles such as conducting research, demonstrating utility and value of inpatient care, and organizational stewardship.
