This article introduces IOTPAY, a decentralized autonomous payment system designed to address the growing need for secure, scalable, and low-cost microtransactions in the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem. IOTPAY leverages Web3.0 technologies to facilitate trustless, peer-to-peer payments between devices and stakeholders, with applications ranging from EV charging to logistics. The system integrates smart contracts, embedded wallets, a layered public key infrastructure, and user-friendly Web/Mobile interfaces. We detail the system architecture, use cases, and core functionalities, along with ecosystem feedback from stakeholders. The approach is aligned with global sustainability, interoperability, and human-centric principles promoted by the NGI Sargasso initiative.
