This chapter introduces the fundamental concepts and the main theoretical approaches that this academic monograph has relied on. Primary attention is paid to the notions of ethno-nationalism, nativism, Euroscepticism, and Occidentalism (as far as the political and sociocultural context of Serbia is concerned). Then, this chapter introduces the broader right as an ‘umbrella-concept’, thus focusing on political origins, evolutionary trajectories, and patters of active engagement alongside ideology.
