Paraguay
摘要
In 2021, Paraguay entered the space sector by launching its first satellite, GuaraniSat-1, developed under the Paraguayan Space Agency (AEP). This milestone marked Paraguay’s transformation into a spacefaring nation. GuaraniSat-1, part of the BIRDS-4 Project, was launched to the International Space Station and later placed into orbit. The creation of GuaraniSat-1 led to the development of national space policies, including the Paraguayan Space Policy, and compliance with international treaties, such as the 1967 Space Treaty. Paraguay has since joined the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) and has been actively participating in international space forums. The country aims to further develop its space capabilities, highlighted by the planning of its second satellite, GuaraniSat-2, and various international collaborations. These achievements underscore Paraguay’s commitment to peaceful space exploration, technological innovation, and international cooperation while setting the foundation for future advancements in its space program.
