The Argentine Republic’s history in space activities dates back to the origins of the space age. First under the Air Force and then separating it from the military sphere with the creation of the National Commission for Space Activities (CONAE), Argentina has developed and launched several satellites, moving forward among the nations that have their own capabilities for the development, testing, and construction of their own missions for Earth observation and communications, and has also generated capabilities in the private sector that is beginning to emerge. Now, having made great progress in human resources capabilities, technologies and infrastructure development, National Space Plans, and international cooperation agreements, an update of the national regulations is seen as necessary to harmonize the regulatory dispersion to accompany this growth, such as strengthening the authorization and licensing procedures for space operators, among others, in line with the most modern global space laws.
