In this expert panel we explore the evolving role of generative AI in creative and analytical domains. Through a workshop involving students we examined how new AI tools influence design processes and whether they could replace human expertise. Beyond creative applications, we trained and tested an AI model for behavioral analysis of free-ranging wild mice, achieving high accuracy in species classification and movement tracking. Additionally, we discuss AI’s role in everyday applications, including smart home control. While AI enhances efficiency, concerns about automation replacing creative professionals remain. We argue that AI is most valuable as an assistant, augmenting human capabilities rather than supplanting them.
