The Digital Transformation: The End of Linear Television?
摘要
The development of streaming platforms in recent years has influenced the traditional model of media consumption significantly. Changing viewer preferences, the growing availability of the internet, and the prevalence of mobile devices have resulted in streaming services gaining millions of viewers worldwide. As a result of this process, traditional linear television, with its strictly defined schedule, is losing part of its audience—particularly among its younger viewers. This is confirmed by the results of a survey conducted among viewers of the popular program Warsaw Shore: Ekipa z Warszawy. MTV Polska is no longer the primary medium through which respondents watch the program; as many as 48.2% of respondents had watched it on a computer, on one of the streaming platforms. Differences were also noted depending on the place of residence. Among rural residents, watching the program on a computer was more popular than among urban residents.
