Investigation of the Joint Operation of a Closed Electron Drift Thruster and a Cold Hollow Magnetron Cathode
摘要
The joint operation of a closed electron drift thruster and a multistage cold hollow magnetron cathode on krypton and xenon has been studied. For comparison, the operation parameters of the thruster with a thermionic cathode-neutralizer on krypton were also obtained. The experimental technique and equipment are described. The minimum value of the partial energy cost of an electron in a multistage magnetron cathode on xenon is 69 eV, the propellant utilization factor is 38 at 1.66 A of the thruster discharge current.
