Applying Model-Based Systems Engineering to the Conceptual Design of Autonomous Ice Penetration Probe for Enceladus Exploration
摘要
This paper describes the process of conceptual design of an autonomous probe for penetration of the ice crust of Enceladus. The developed design is intended to be part of a large-scale training project on exploration of Enceldaus, which was done during the “Space Development: Theory & practice—2022” international workshop. Methodology of this work was based on Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) approach. Work on this project resulted in elaboration of a framework for conceptual design of ice penetration probes, which incorporates a set of newly developed and pre- existing analytical tools. This framework could be used for further development of this project or for any future studies in this field.
