MXenes: A Promising Avenue for Sustainable Nanotechnology
摘要
MXenes are a class of 2-D transition metal nitrides, carbides, and carbonitrides, first discovered in 2011. MXenes have emerged as a promising materials platform with exceptional properties and diverse applications. Their unique combination of high conductivity, mechanical strength, and chemical steadiness makes them attractive for various sustainable technologies. This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the synthesis, inherent properties, applications of MXenes, highlighting their potential contributions to energy storage, environmental remediation, and sustainable energy systems. Additionally, the challenges and future perspectives of MXene research is also addressed. By understanding the advantages and challenges associated with MXenes, researchers and engineers can leverage their potential to develop sustainable solutions for pressing global issues. However, this chapter highlights the significance of MXenes as a sustainable nanomaterial that can contribute to a more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient future.
