Introduction
摘要
The rationale of this study emphasizes the transformation of traditional cities into resilient sustainable smart cities. Sustainable development is the necessity of modernization and innovation goals of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG). From this perspective, this monograph has been written by three authors from different disciplines. It is a multidisciplinary work on the modern approach of resilient sustainable smart cities, offering a comprehensive analysis of the technological, governance, and socio-economic dimensions shaping the future of urbanization. The book begins by contextualizing the rise of smart cities within the broader historical trajectory of urban development from the Industrial Revolution to today’s digitally interconnected metropolises. Urbanization has always been a driver of innovation, yet contemporary challenges, climate change, infrastructural decay, economic disparities, and technological disruption. Smart cities, as this book argues, are not merely about digital integration but about resilience, sustainability, and equitable governance.
