Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives are essential for fostering a more inclusive and equitable environment within radiology departments and the wider radiological community. This chapter explores important areas for DEI implementation, including departmental policies, continuous education and training, workplace culture, clinical practice, and research. Establishing DEI committees, implementing transparent promotion policies and flexible work opportunities, as well as providing mentorship chances for underrepresented groups are crucial steps toward actual change. Training programs addressing implicit biases, workplace violence, and cultural competency can further promote inclusivity. Moreover, psychological support resources should be implemented to address the unique challenges faced by minority and marginalized radiologists. In clinical practice, equitable access to imaging and culturally competent care for diverse patient populations is essential. Also, radiological societies, federal agencies, and scientific journals play a critical role in promoting DEI through dedicated committees, equitable research funding, diverse conference representation, and inclusive publication practices. By applying these strategies, the radiological community can foster personal growth among their workforce, drive innovation, and ultimately improve patient care.

摘要
