Philosophical analysis of regulation can contribute to Corporate Social Responsibility. Varying regulatory environments can facilitate the achievement of different social objectives. A particular regulatory regime may impose restrictions, or produce a diversity of (social, technological, economical, etc.) consequences, while exerting varying influence on the relevant stakeholders (like consumers, companies, scientists, etc.). In order to show this, we use a case study on health claim regulation in three regional food markets as an example. The relevance of our results lies in that they lay bare certain assumptions and implications that are often hidden by aspects which ordinarily are considered as technical or economic concerns only, but that in terms of social responsibility may be of importance for companies that develop new scientific-technological products.

摘要
