The rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) are driving significant transformations in education, among other sectors of society. AI offers new opportunities for personalized learning, automation of administrative tasks, and improvement of teaching methods. Despite its potential advantages, however, questions arise regarding the effectiveness of AI in the learning process, its impact on students’ critical thinking, and the need for ethical standards. This article explores the impact of AI on the management of the educational process, analyzing the performance of three classes in Bulgaria studying the discipline “Digital Technologies in Business”. The study compares a class that uses AI tools such as ChatGPT and Canva with two classes that rely on traditional technologies and teaching methods. The results show that students who use AI demonstrate higher engagement, increased efficiency in completing assignments, and better academic results. AI-based tools facilitate the preparation of projects in schools, automate the evaluation of assignments, and stimulate students’ creativity by helping them generate innovative ideas and develop critical thinking. The study highlights the key challenges associated with the ethical use of AI in education, including the need for a balanced approach that combines traditional pedagogical methods with technological innovations. The importance of training for teachers and students is emphasized in order to effectively and responsibly implement AI in the learning process. In conclusion, the study offers recommendations for future strategies and policies that would support the sustainable and ethical application of artificial intelligence in education.
