Design and Realization of Novel Graphical User Interface for Sensor-Instrumented Miniaturized Robotic Gripper

Novel design of Software and its developmental cycle are essential ingredients for the ensemble deployment of any robotic system. Graphical User Interface (GUI) has become very handy in designing the overall architecture of the Software as it provides the relevant instructions to the robots/robotic systems in order to govern the robot to do the actions as per the instructions provided by the end user. The paper brings out the indigenous design and development of a tailor-made software for checking the performances of the sensors mounted on a custom-built miniaturized robotic gripper, which is helpful for the robot technologists to do the mathematical analysis of the grasp synthesis aided by the said hardware. The novel software has been realized through the development of the said GUI comprising seven dissimilar quadrants, each having pre-designated design as well as functional modules using seven different sensors. The real time data of all the sensors are collected in the excel sheet which is used to show the performances of the sensors using various parameters like odd-even timestamp data, time intervals, chart types, gridline,2Dand 3D visual effect of graph. The analytical values of the sensors are displayed in real-time by means of more than 15 types of charts. The charts play crucial role in data analysis by visual representation of data, making it easier to identify patterns, trends and insights.
