Electrochemical Investigation on Corrosion Inhibition Behavior of Tetraazachloro Schiff Base/Cu(II) and Zn(II) Materials for Mild Steel in Acidic Environment
摘要
Organic propped inhibitor shows remarkable efficiency against corrosion, in this work tetraazachloro Schiff base Ligand (L9) and their Copper and Zinc based metal complexes were synthesized simple condensation reaction then its formation and chemical structure were studied in FTIR and 1H and 13C NMR spectral analysis. The corrosion inhibition efficiency of these materials was investigated through modern electrochemical corrosion analysis techniques. From EIS result the inhibited system shows increased resistivity by increased concentration and tafel polarization result indicated the inhibited system has significantly lower corrosion rate. both metal complexes has extremely lower current density LC9 and LZ9 shows Icorr value of 408.2 μA cm2 and 411.1 μA cm2 which is nearly 80% lower than the uninhibited system. The passive layer formation on MS surface was observed in SEM analysis resulted metal complexes has stringer layer formation to prevent the corrosion reaction.
