The Contribution of the Drimolen Dental Sample to Interpreting the Paleobiology of Paranthropus robustus
摘要
Until the discovery of hominins at DrimolenDrimolen our understanding of the dental morphologyMorphology of Paranthropus robustus was largely based on evidence recovered from just one site, SwartkransSwartkrans. Most of the more than 150 hominin specimens recovered from DrimolenDrimolen since 1992 include evidence that significantly expands the dental hypodigmHypodigm of P. robustus. This contribution reviews how that new evidence has influenced our interpretation of the paleobiology of P. robustus, including its taxonomy, demographyDemography, and population variationVariation.
