To contribute to more efficient farm work, smart agricultural technology combining AI, IoT and robotics is attracting attention. On the other hand, there are some problems such that it is difficult to introduce the machine for cost and space in real environments. This paper describes new onion sorting machine using AI and robotics technologies with detachable mechanism. The merits of detachable mechanism are to make the machine be introduced easily since almost parts of the original machine can be available, and to enable workers to operate the original sorting process since a part of the machine is modified only. And the feasibility and efficiency of the developed sorting machine are verified in the real sorting house using dozens of tons of onions.
