Through a scoping review, this chapter explores the synergies between religion and public health, highlighting how religious leaders can leverage their influential positions to guide their communities in making informed decisions about SRH. Drawing from the literature, it acknowledges the strained relationship between public health initiatives and religious beliefs, while advocating for the identification of complementarities and collaborative approaches. It argues that by recognizing religious leaders as partners, public health efforts can more effectively address SRH challenges in Africa. For religious leaders to become more effective, it is important to equip them with effective communication skills and provide accurate and evidence-based information on SRH.
