The real interest in numerical techniques in the study of EEG in recent decades is beyond doubt. However, this tool is not as widespread in clinical practice as scientific interest suggests. The truth is that conventional EEG is fundamentally dedicated to epilepsy, with much less interest in other pathologies, such as encephalopathies, psychiatric illness or dementias. Nevertheless, these are the pathologies in which the application of numerical analysis methods is likely to offer the greatest benefits, since EEG tracings are nonspecific or more difficult to interpret. It is expected that the systematic application of qEEG could produce a true revolution in daily clinical practice.

摘要
